Background Information

The AOMC now holds the design details of suspension springs for a multitude of vehicles ranging from the 1920s vintage through to the 1950s and 60s. These details were originally prepared by a major Victorian spring manufacturer. There are passenger cars and trucks. Both leaf and coil springs are covered. These specifications would enable any competent spring manufacturer to create suitable springs.

Makes covered include:

The grade of steel and tempering process are not included in the specifications and are left to the experienced manufacturer to apply. So, if you have a project vehicle that has a broken or missing a spring, then these specifications may assist you in its restoration.

This search service is now available ($60) and will provide you with an image of the relevant specification, similar to the following examples.

Note that the AOMC does not claim expertise in spring design or manufacture or that the data provided relates to your specific vehicle.
