Minutes of the Special General Meeting held Monday May 20th, 2024 - 7.30pm at the Jaguar Austin Healey Clubrooms, Springvale. There were 93 delegates present representing 68 clubs.
Special Resolution 1 proposes a number of changes to the Rules in order to allow organisations which are not incorporated become members of the Association.

Variety is the spice of life so I hear. Issue 55 has plenty of variety. It came together quite quickly as I spend more time indoors when the temperature becomes less congenial for outside activities.

It was great to see the variety of vehicles that delegates took the opportunity to drive to the Ballarat Delegates’ meeting in August, including this 1920s Dodge six. The Dodge is the VDC Club Car driven to the delegates meeting by a young enthusiast, the car having been donated to the club and restored by club members. It is available for the use of young members and those members without a car. More photo’s on page 18 of this issue.

The cycle car theme continues from issue 53 with a story on a veteran Swift by Gavin Muttonmain. The focus of issue 54, however, is on Vauxhalls. Vauxhalls were a sporting car in the 1920s and a few specials even add to their sporting credentials.

As promised in issue 52, issue 53 would be discussing cyclecars, a motoring phenomenon of the late teens and early 1920s. The manufacturing of such machines enabled many thousands of people to experience the chance of being a motorist in the relatively new age of the motorcar.

I’m hoping the Victorian Winter has not been too savage for you all and that you are either driving or finding the time to maintain your vehicles. Since our last delegates meeting, we have enjoyed two significant workshops and information sharing sessions, our Club Management Seminar in June featured the topics of Governance, Financial Management, Insurance, Promotions and Records Management. I’m sure all who attended took away some helpful tips that can be put to good use. All speakers donated their time and expertise and we express our thanks and appreciation…
